Do you think it is worth it to a dive with dee scarr for first timers to the island?
i have emailed her on four occasions trying to get info but have never got a response. Has anyone done any dives with her and if so what is the difference in the one and three dive deals she has. are the three dive in one day two days or three?

My wife and I dove with Dee several years ago, and they are among my most treasured dives. My wife was a novice diver at the time and thoroughly enjoyed herself, too. We did the three dive package over two days. One was a night dive. Dee taught us a huge amount about marine wildlife in a very short time and a very entertaining manner. Her pre- and post-dive briefings were fascinating and the experiences of having cleaner fish on our hands, petting a scorpionfish, feeding an anemone, etc. were sublime.

Dee only spends about half the year on Bonaire and can be hard to track down. I assume you used dee@touchthesea.com

Good luck.

If you are going to Bonaire and have a dive partner going with you....personally I see no need to have a "guide". You WILL need a truck though and some place from which to get your tanks.

Other than that....just drive around and hit as many shore dive places that you can. !000 Steps is a great dive....and go off the pier at Buddy Dive and head left to Eden....I think we saw more life there than any other site except 1k Steps.

Bonaire has boats for sure but it is a shore dive mecca. As you drive a long the road you will see rocks painted yellow along the side and that is a shore dive site. Leave NOTHING in the truck and you will be fine.

Im sure Herman and maybe liz will get on here and give you more info.....they are much more knowledgeable than me.

Good luck..
