I'll be getting wet in Negril soon and trying to get all my ducks in a row. Does anyone know if there is a Deco Chamber near Negril? Not planing on using it. I just want to have info- just in case.

As I understand the only chamber accessible to divers is at the Discovery Bay Marine Lab. I was given a tour of this chamber many years ago. The chamber operator at the time said it was brought to Jamaica for the marine Lab by a group of name brand graduate schools that use that area of Jamaica for marine studies. It is about half way between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios which means it is the better part of an hour from Montego Bay which is the better part of two hours from Negril.

Here is the contact info I had on file. I am not sure how up-to-date it is.

You are correct, DBML currently has the only chamber currently, there is another in Kingston but it is not yet operational.

You are also correct that you contact information is out of date ;'] Dr. Quinn no longer works for DBML. Enquiries should be directed to Ms. Housen, the administrator, or Peter Gayle, Chief Scientific Officer.

In the event of a serious diving accident the patient can be transported by helicopter to the lab as they have a landing area. And yes they know to travel at low altitude.
