My wife and I will be in bonaire in december. She dives bur is not interested shore diving. Is there a boat operator who will take you to the best dive sites without going to Klein every day

If staying at Capt dons they do three one tank boat dives every day and usually do Klein on only one of them. You get to sign up each day for the boat times and locations that you want to go to

I believe the boat operators avoid the shore accessible sites on the main island. This means you miss a good number of the better sites.

Do you mind if i ask what her opposition is? Has she been to bonaire and done the shore dives? I find the shore dives so much easier and fun than boat dives. Easy entry if you pick the right sites (which is not hard), you can dive and get ready on your own time, don't have the end the dive on somebody else's time. I find it hard to see the negatives of the shore dives other than it can be hot when the sun is beating down on the ironshore and you do need to be careful, walking but again pick the right sites. We dive rebreathers and its so nice to throw them in the bed of the truck, throw our drysuits half on at the rental house in the AC, drive up to the site, zip up the suit and go.

You’re welcome. They also almost always have at least two boats going so you usually have a choice of six sites every day

I respectfully disagree. Carrying tanks and weights down and back up 1,000 Steps is not fun. Also, having to be minimalist in the extra items (less they be stolen out of the truck) is also a PIA. The other thing I could have done without if the long swim at Red Slave.

If someone could combine the ease of the drift dives of Cozumel with the beauty of Bonaire's reefs. I would probably visit at least two weeks every year. And, I would be land sailing for a lot of my surface time.

Learn to drive a dpv and rent one from someplace like TDS or Mr G's. I personally have not scootered in bonaire because we're diving ccr so we just go crazy slow and do 3+ hour dives. Super relaxing and not alot of work. But if I was oc and wanted to see more without finning much, I'd scooter super slow. Negative is some fish are afraid of the sound of scooters.
