I'm updating early, since I probably won't be able to do it tomorrow. So as to not stress y'all out, the colors have changed. You can't complain about being lime green. At least I didn't make it pink.

Red, Green or Pink, it still represents separation anxiety.

I am thinking of fashioning a 8" sling spear with a rubber band and a pencil and go hunting at the tropical fish store for Pez Leon as therapy.

Oh I like it, I could use the practice. I only got one and one got me.

One got you???? Ouch!!!! :shocked2:

Well, I got me actually. I shot, got feathers and when I pulled for the second shot there was a spine in the rubber band I have to adjust the spread of the tip. So I stabbed myself with a spine. That freaked me out a little from the stories I read about it hurting a little and then suddenly your hand swells like 5 times and you want to cut it off. So I signaled and started up while pushing blood out. Then I got on the boat and apparently misremembered the treatment and iced it. Thankfully I guess the only pain was mainly from the hole in my hand I didn't get venom as I was fine. Good practice though.

I misread. See below...

Who told it hurt a little? That's someone I'd want to avoid completely. :shakehead: Yeah, I've heard you want to cut your hand off.

Treatment is hot water soak, as hot as you can stand without damage. You did get venom as that what causes the pain. It's just not usually deadly; eating them is riskier.

Not necessarily. The puncture itself will hurt somewhat. If he didn't have severe pain, he probably didn't have an envenomation.
Sometimes people do luck out...

Sent from an old fashioned 300 baud acoustic modem by whistling into the handset. Really.

Oh, I see. I misread him. I understand now.

Lucked out is an understatement. Having been nailed last summer (entirely my fault) there is no mistaking an actual envenomation, 8 - 12 hours of extream pain.

I got a 9 oz can of bear spray for my next trip to Big Bend NP with the kids, just in case any wildlife seem aggressive. You're safer on the trail than on the road generally, but bears and cougars and wild pigs - oh my! I've read postings from guys who experimented with having themselves sprayed. :silly: I'm happy with the youtube demonstrations.

I need to replan my Coz trip, again. Maybe April.
