Hello everyone,
I've got a few days off around Christmas and am thinking about making a trip to the NC coast for some diving.I've never dove it this time of year and would like to hear your opinions. What kind of water temps can I expect? What is typical vis this time of year?Is it even worth the try or should I look for another dive site?Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks! Troy

The diving can be good, and almost all of the big ops will run trips all year, but you face 2 challenges - (1) bad [windy] weather, and (2) finding enough people to run a trip.

Unless you have a big group (or at least 4 to charter a 6-pack), you can't really expect to find a trip running every day. On the other hand, you can probably find a trip or two if you are willing to be flexible.

What part of NC are you headed for?

Rich

I have actually found a trip out of murrells inlet SC going out to the Hebe on the 22nd.Weather permitting,we're planning on doing it!!

The Hebe is a great dive. We are going to dive it a few times this weekend. Lots and lots of life on the wreck.

Sounds great! When you get back let me know how it was.I've never dove it but from what others have told me it should be a great dive this time of year.I just hopes the weather cooperates with us. Troy
