I just bought a 8GB card for my 800, will it work ok? I haven't got the camrera yet, but a friend said the card might not work?

I had both and it worked. I had to transfer with the cable from camera to pc instead of inserting the card in the pc. Some reason card wouldnt trsfr by itself
