Well I just got back from Down Under and I've got to say I love warm water diving! I dive out of Monteray Ca most of the time so when I get to do a warm water dive it's always a special treat (it also influnces my rating on the dive). We went out to the reef on Siver Swift out of Cairns. The boat was very nice, we had 25 divers and snorklers, split about evenly. The crew was great and very helpful, the 3 snorklers I had with me really enjoyed the trip. The reef was so so, vis was about 65-70 feet a fair amount of mariane life to include a couple of trutles, 3 spotted rays and a Queensland Grouper. It wasn't a colorful as the Keys or the Caribean but it was still very nice. If your looking for some hard core diving this isn't for you, if you want a great day on the reef with a great crew and lots of fun this is the place.
