Hey folks,
Does anyone have up to date info/recommendations on hotels in and around Papeete that might have (less expensive) day rates to allow people to use the hotel facilities for the day (ie pool and ideally a shower before leaving)?
At the end of my diving trip, I fly in from Fakarava (if on time, I know) at 8:30 a.m. and don't fly out until 10 p.m. It will be Dec 31 on top of that. People have suggested I rent a car and bomb around for the day visiting places but I know myself and post-dive trip, I am going to want to just lounge out, enjoy the sun and relax.
On my way in, I am staying at the Manava Resort but they have already advised that they do not do day rates and the $300+ /night is a bit steep for me to pay again.
