My husband and I made our third trip to Bonaire in October/November '04 and took our 7-yr. old daughter and my mother-in-law with us for the first time. Despite fair to poor weather during much of our stay and one flat tire, we had a great time, as usual. We stayed at the Bel-Mar, which we love, and did a combination of shore and boat diving. Our daughter snorkeled with Caren Eckrich at Sea & Discover and had a fantastic time -- this is a definite must for kids!
See the complete trip report at: http://ece.clemson.edu/crb/dawson/scubareports/Bonaire 10-04.pdf
For a slideshow including topside and underwater photos, check out: http://ece.clemson.edu/crb/dawson/Bonaire Vacation 2004.exe
A slideshow of underwater only photos:

NOTE -- For the slideshows - please cut and paste the entire name (including the file extension "pdf" or "exe") into your browser - not just the highlighted portion of the file name. Clicking on the highlighted portion will result in an error message.
We're tentatively planning to return again next summer, if we can work out schedules, etc. Can't wait!!!

Kim, thank you so much for posting those links!

Just an FYI; If you remove all spaces when setting up those links it will keep the hyperlink all together and clicking on them will work. If that isn't easy, when typing in the link, instead of typing a space, type %20 instead (which is hex for ascii 32, which is a space)...as in; http://ece.clemson.edu/crb/dawson/scubareports/Bonaire 2004 Underwater.exe for Underwater;
http://ece.clemson.edu/crb/dawson/Bonaire Vacation 2004.exe for Vacation; and
http://ece.clemson.edu/crb/dawson/scubareports/Bonaire 10-04.pdf for the report in Adobe pdf.

Just a thought from a fellow diver.

The slide shows are awesome. We are going in 7 weeks and 2 days already starting the countdown.

how did you create you slide show?? with what software and how did you put it on the net like that??

Hi all -

Thanks for the advice on posting links, Kel - you obviously know a lot more about this than I do! Someone else posts the shows on my husband's web page for me -- I'll ask them to do what you said the next time I have a show to add.

Aaron - I use a program called ProShow Gold to create the slide shows. It is very easy to learn and use and you can create shows in multiple formats from the same file (DVD, exe, CD, etc). I really enjoy it for organizing both scuba photos and our family photos into shows that can be easily shared with friends and family. As for putting it on the web, my husband does that - I don't have a clue how. However, with ProShow, I know you can somehow upload your shows through their website for people to view -- you could check out the specifics on their web page.

Have a great time in Bonaire!
