I purchased a davey 15 cfm diesel compressor. I changed oils, filters, and greased. I tested it and 3rd stage seemed about 150 psi low, if the gauge is accurate. I filled a few bulk tanks, this is for paintball, and all seemed good. Yesterday I went to run it and when I engaged the clutch the compressor seemed to spin slow. When I shut it down I then checked oil and it looked to have condesate in it. It has been hot and humid, is that enough to do that to the oil, or do I have major issues?

Thanks,
Doug

Doug,
It is hard to tell. The davey's are notorious for low oil pressure and the oil pump is weak.
The speed is totally dependent on the diesel engine RPM. The gauges on the compressor show oil pressure and rpm so you should be able to tell if it is running slow. Watch the oil pressure carefully when it starts and if you don't have pressure shut it off.
I had to prime the oil pump on one of the units I bought several years ago. When they run well they are good, but they are also a money pit -- unless you have a second one for parts.
I owned two at one time and would not take one if it was given to me. However, I know several people who have some good ones and maybe they will comment
