Hello everyone,
I will spend 9 days in Dauin, with extensive diving and some land excursions. I got my eyes on two places that seem adequate to my budget/interest: Liquid and Azure.
But I can't quite decide between the two. Both seem quite good, as far as diving is concerned. Both seems comfortable, and both are - more or less - in the same price range.
Azure seems a bit more isolated though.
For those who stayed/dived there, which would be your pick?

Can’t comment on Azure but Liquid was excellent when I was there. Excellent guides and a welcoming community vibe. Definitely recommended.

+1 on Liquid. I'll definitely be a return customer

I was at Liquid in February. One thing to note is that they drive you to the sites although there was talk of fixing a small boat they have.

I was there in late April. 3 boats including the Bangka

I dived Liquid in October last year. They were quite good, both the dive operation and the resort. Basic, but more than adequate.

Note the boat we used sank while we were there when a typhoon off northern Philippines made the seas very rough. The boat was at its mooring and facing into a strong current and the wind and seas came from the opposite direction and during the night it filled with water and sank. They recovered it the same day. The next day fibreglass people were looking at it to repair the hull (damaged when dragging onto the beach) and perhaps raising the stern. Outboard was said to be still working. Perhaps it has had more problems.

+1 with Azure, IMO the best guides around (which is the most important for me). I first asked for advice to one of the most senior intructor in Dauin because I thought the guiding/spotting was not totally up in the previous dive resorts I used, he advised me Azure because of their excellent guides (Bogart and Ricky) and Glenn's dive management (Glenn Carballo the filipino owner is the ex dive manager of the upscale Atlantis). They provided me all the flexibility i wanted and a great panel of critters. I only had one -prestigious- customer photographer to share a small boat with and a guide for myself for a few bucks more.
Add on top the food at their place is quite healthy and good : one of the best kinilaw I ate in the Visayas.

Can't say for Liquid, I only had a -say unenthusiastic- feedback from one of my friends regarding a lack a diligence when a problem occured. But that was a long time, some 10 years ago, probably won't happen again.
