Hi, I am a research assistant at Diver's Alert Network (DAN) in Durham, NC. We are conducting a study looking at PFO closure in divers.

Are you a diver who has been diagnosed with a PFO?
If so, please volunteer for our study.

The purpose of the study is to establish who is better-off, divers with PFO who undergo closure and/or divers with PFO who continue diving without the closure. The relative risk estimation will be based on combined incidence of adverse events due to decompression and due to the closure procedure. The risk/benefit estimation will be attempted based on comparison of incidence of DCS before the closure with the combined incidence of DCS and adverse events after the closure.

For more information and instructions on how to register visit the DAN website.

Or, contact me by mail if you have any other questions jcotton@dan.org.

Note: We are working in collaboration with Dr. Ebersole. So, you may have already spoke to him about this same project.
