nessima is good yep u can do dives streight from the center, so long as the tide stays in, otherwise it's a slog ;-0 to the drop, apart from that yea recommend it.

if u r on a budget then try 'posidion divers' its at a back street, but has good divers their, it's mainly for the back packers, not tourists, nice place to get the smokes.

beware the blue hole !!!!

it has claimed enought divers, plz do not exceed 30 meters, as i have seen people for some reason lose it ??? stay safe :jester:

The diving in Dahab is great, I was there only a few weeks ago.
Couple of points:

The best dive by far is the Canyon, the Blue Hole is overrated and usually dived in conjunction with "the bells" ( a vertical shaft followed by a nice deep wall).

The blue hole is only dangerous for people attempted to dive under "the arch" from the blue hole to the outside wall! The depth of the arch starts at 55 metres and it is actually a tunnel 26 metres long exited at about 60 metres.
The currents in the arch are unpredictable, the ceiling is covered in jagged rocks and is dark, there are frequently down currents on the outside wall.

The problem is that divers under the influence of peer pressure and excessive testosterone typically attempt this dive with ONE 80 cu/ft tank of air..no reduncancy, no torch, no deep dive training and no idea what theyre getting themselves into!

When I was exiting from a dive three Russians went in and two came out, the bottom under the arch is 120 metres deep and a search by the local Teckies failed to locate the body!!

Nessima are OK as a dive operator..maybe a bit casual for inexperienced divers.

IMO Divers Down Under (DDU) are better, a young but experienced and enthusiastic crew, very thorough and the female staff make excellant photographic models..nuff said.

To "do" Dahab you will need to allow about 5 days..some dives are worth doing twice!
Cheers
