Hello, Im just thinking of buying a reg i had couple people tell me go with diverite and stuff but right now i just want to get something to dive for the next couple years, And start working my way into tech diving. How is the dacor Viper Reg its cheap from scubatoys and i like the way it is? or if anyone eles has any suggestions.
Thanks

dacor was bought a while back (forget by whom... Mares, i think) and they have announced plans not to support most of their products.

dacor is an ok reg... nothing bad about it... nothing exactly great about it either
(my first reg was a Dacor Fury, and i had very good luck with it. never gave me
any trouble)

for about $250 you could get a Zeagle, and that's a much better value

I had a viper. It sucks. Or more aptly, you have to suck hard to get air off of it, and it breathes kind of wet too.

I switched to scubapro.

you get what you pay for...

YMMV.

me? no... the only difference is a control knob that lets you adjust flow of gas.

my Apeks 50 has it, and i can't remember the last time i touched it. it's been on minimal setting pretty much since i bought it. i don't think it's worth $45.00

OK any other suggestions?
