Cyklon 5000 port: R versus LP

In the normal configuration, the second stage is connected to the "R" port of the Cyklon 5000 fist stage.
To optimize the routing of the hoses I would need to connect the second stage to a LP port.
Any one ìs aware what is the difference between R and LP and whether it is OK to connect the second stage to LP?

(I read that R had an increased airflow for the reg but could not confirm. Secondly it is strange that the configuration of the first stage is not symmetrical?).
