Hey everyone. I'm doing some research for an article and I'd like to know if anyone has any experiences they'd like to share with me (either by posting or PM) about trolls and cyber bullying they've encountered on this site or other diving forums. I think the root of the problem lies in the ability of people to be anonymous. Very interesting experiment a few years ago involving students invited to torture subjects believing they would remain completely anonymous. The results were shocking. Anyway let me know what your experiences have been like.

Thanks
Robert

From my own experience. If you go to a general site like CNN practically every discussion quickly involves trolls. For more specific ones like Space.Com I would say that trolls pop up 20-30 per cent of the time if not more. On specific local sites I see it rarely. Seems like the wider and the more general the forum the more attractive to trolls.

I have no experience with cyber bullying. It seems to be more of an issue with the youngest generation who care more about their online image.
