Hello.
I got these custom made diver plugs to prevent water coming in. Ive got tons of exostosis and really don't want water in my ear canals. The information available on forums and internet is very limited. So I'm hoping to have some of your insights using divers plugs. The theory of the plugs is the same as docs earplugs. Tiny hole to enable air to escape but not water entering.
What's the worse that can happen? Blown ear drum?

The little holes can get clogged. Goodbye eardrums.
Why not just use an alcohol+vinegar rinse after each dive?

Problem is that i cannot hear for daaaaays because water gets clogged and is really hard to get rid of. Thats why.

I have the same problem where I simply cannot get the water to drain from my ears properly and have not found an "ear beer" yet that works for me. I use EarShield and Doc's Plugs, plus then if I get even the least bit of water in my ears, I use an ear dryer. I've had far too many ear infections to not take these precautions.

Exactly. Water that won't leave the ear eventually comes with an infection. I yet have to try an ear dryer, but hopefully it won't be neccesary with the molded ear plugs. What's earshield?

This sounds like a situation where the use of a ProEar mask would be valid. You just need the mask and some hair clippers and you're good to go.
That's not gonna work out for me and my beard - still in the search of the perfect mask for my beard and face. And i reckon that won't be it.
Im really looking for experience with like products as im referring to :)

I would explore surgery, and shave

I did, but since its a fairly simple surgery the chances of the ear canal completely closing on itself while healing - this is my last go to see if i can solve the problem by taking som precautions. And if not i guess im trying surgery. I just don't wanna lose hearing. Did you have surgery?
