What the heck did you see at 498 feet and why didn't you go the extra 2 feet?

Tell us more about this dive...was it on an Inspiration, where, why, how?

Story time....or link time because Jason didn't do a search first. :)

A. It was in a cave in the Bahamas
B. Lots of silt and wet rocks
C. The bottom of the cave was stopping me from getting 2 more feet, I did not take a shovel
D. Open Circuit Doubles with 2 stages and 3 deco cylinders
Bottom Mix Heliair 8/62, Mid range Heliair 14/33, Deco- Air, 40%, and 80%

Not much of a story, I did not find any going cave. It was more of a giant pit.

What was your total time in the water?

Were you exploring only or looking for something specific or just going for the experience? (In other words, what was your motivation to do this particular dive to this particular depth?)

We were exploring caves.
Note: I am of the older school of deep diving, thus I dive with an increased narcosis level and only use heliair, because of its simplicity in remote locations.

PM me the dive plan and I'll make suggestions

I once hit 131ft diving my single cylinder, at Punta Sur in Cozumel. My bottom gas was air, my travel gas was air, and my deco gas was air.

:/

Just felt like I needed to share....lol

I have done lots of decompression stops at 130, using air also :-)

I did a dive to 70ft for 30 minutes so naa naa naa naa naa naa.

If I was doing deco at 130ft...I would be in some serious trouble. :)

Not as much as if you didn't do it.
