I am scheduled to arrive in Curacao on Tuesday afternoon and was just wondering what the dive conditions are currently like? I hear there is a large storm brewing fairly close to the island and was hoping that it was not interfering with visibily. Thanks in advance for the update.

Thresa,
Yesterday and today we had a cloudy day with some sun. There are periods of heavy rain special on early sunday morning.
Currently the wind is minimal as is the sun and more rain is expected.
The water temperature this morning was 84 degrees. The waves were small, but can become bigger when the wind picks up again.

The current weather has a slightly negative influence on the visibility but that still means that there is a visibility at most places of at least 50 - 60 feet. More than enough for a very pleasant dive during night or day. For photography it is less perfect than normal because of backscatter when using the strobe. But also that is something you can compensate for especially if you are used to take pictures in far less favorable waters.

Have fun while being on the island.

I returned from Curacao on the 23rd. When we arrived on the 15th there was a bit of rain, and again as we were leaving had some rain, but none while we were there.

I also noticed the vis was not as GREAT as some places. But I am not saying that as it was bad. It was a good 60', some sites more some less.

Did quite a few sites from Wakalue (sp?) to the north, and down south of Sunset Waters. Enjoyed them all. Some days we did have a great deal of wind, and surface conditions got a bit bouncy. But the dives were still wonderful.

Even did some free diving and found this old man can still comfortably go down to 30' and swim around.

I plan to go again.
