Nice videos. Is Watamula a boat or shore dive?
Watching those makes me anxious to get down there....

Watamula is a boat dive. We dove it with Ocean Encounters West, they go there a couple times a week.

I just use a Sony Cyber-Shot W290 with the Marine Pack. It takes great photos and HD video. It works best in the shallows (<30 feet) with lots of natural light. Deeper down you lose colors, I've yet to find a strobe for it and the build in flash is not very useful under water.

You might consider using a red filter. While not as good as a strobe, a red filter will go a long way towards correcting your colors.

Great videos! Where did you stay? The wife and I are ready to book a trip down there for Jan but haven't quite made a selection on where to stay.

Dirty Dog: I'll have to look into getting a red filter. Do you have a link to some red filters that would work with my system?

glocklt4: We stayed at All West Apartments and dove with Ocean Encounters West. Both are located in Westpunt which is on the western end of the island. The apartments were pretty nice, the package deal comes with a rental car that you pick up at the airport. The apartments are just that, apartments, its not really a resort, so there is no restaurant or anything associated with them and there was no maid service. So when we picked up the car, the person that met us took us to a supermarket where we bought groceries for the pick. There are a few restaurants in Westpunt but not many. Westpunt is about a 45min drive from Willemstad. We dove four times a day so didn't have much down time to do anything else, but if you're only doing a couple dives a day you'll probably get bored staying in Westpunt as there is not much else to do on that side of the island. It is very different from the Willemstad area. The house reef at the Apartments, Playa Piscado, is very nice and is about 100 yards off shore. There is an on site dive station where you can store your gear and pick up tanks. The actual OEW dive shop is a short drive away located on Playa Kalki/Alice in Wonderland.

Thanks for the recommendation on All West!

I'm Jealous. Nice vids!
