Curacao is the least expensive diving in the Carribean (excluding airfare). Shore diving is easy even for a novice and quite safe and tank rentals are around $5-7 US.We have a small apartment with kitchen that will sleep 4 ( two upstairs and two on a comfortable sofa bed downstairs). We have ceiling fans which keep the place very cool even during quite warm times and we are right on the beach. Walk down a few stairs with your gear and walk into amazing diving.Food is really inexpensive if you eat at what the locals call snack bars ($5.00 will buy a meal to feed 2-3 adults) but there are many 'nice' places to eat either at dive shops or along the road. You can get a car rental for around $240 for the week and driving is easy. It is a safe island with no real crime but as with anywhere you don't leave your keys and $$ on the beach unattended. Our apartment is on the West End ( the quiet area) so if you want night life you drive 30 minutes to the city of Willemstadt. English is spoken almost everywhere and the locals are just downright nice. We love it!!!! Our place is managed by a wonderful Dutch couple who are there to help you with questions and it rents for $110 a night (plus electric for AC which you don't need).
