We would like to hire a driver to help us while in westpunt side, Huland lodge. PM me if you are available to drive 2 cool people ( me and wife) around to dinner 2-3 nights the week of June 21-26.

Try Bing Maps - use 2D and aerial view.
My suggestion.... are you renting a car in town? If not, you might want to consider renting one just for a couple of days. There's a lot to see on the West End of the island; beautiful beaches, Christoffel mountain, Shete Boca, flamingos, landhuises etc. Even if you are getting the morning boat dive plan, you'd have the afternoon to see the area. With a car, you could get to a couple of restaurants out side of the area. From the Lodge in Westpunt, you can eat there, here at Sol Food; a 10 minute walk and Jaanchies; a 12 minute walk. The new Mistje is open Wed. to Sun. It is approx. a mile and a half away. We could probably get you a lift there on Wednesday. Rancho Sobrino (with a short cut) is about the same distance. I know of one person who might be able to drive you, but again it's too far in advance. Think about the car and I can ask on the meantime.

Wow!!

How many Scubaboarders are going to be at the Lodge between June 11 and 27?

Scubbydoo, jd950, us and ????? I thought I remembered seeing someone else will be there.

You might be able to convince me to let you ride in the back of our pickup truck. LOL!! We will be at the dinner Sunshine mentioned on the 23rd as well. Maybe I am the person she is referring to? Or the other jd?

Have to do Sol Food on the weekends!!

We have two cars early on, the 11th through the 16th?, but only the truck after that.

Look up JD on the boat when you get in.

We would love to meet two cool people to go along with my old fat self, my cute wife, my older out of control son and my younger really great guy son.

See you there!!

24 days for us!!!

We aren't staying at the Lodge, we will be over at AllWest.

If you do choose to look up "JD," be aware there will apparently be two old, fat JD's in the area in June, both with cute wives, and both with two sons.

Name badges may become necessary.

Too funny.

How about hair styles?

Mine is white and cut very short.

We could have JD w/hair and JD w/o hair.

My boys are 24, former Marine, three tours in Iraq and 16, kicking for his high school football team. Neither real big.

Yours?

Scubby:

After some thought, I second Sunshine's recommendation about getting a car.

You probably don't want to be in the back of a truck with me driving after dinner anyway. LOL!!

I don't know of any drivers in Westpunt. Maybe there are some, but I doubt it seeing the area.

The cab fare to the Lodge both ways is expensive, probably equal to about three days car rental. The cost of renting a car for the rest of your trip would not be that much.

Plus you do have the freedom of movement to see the sights.

See you on the boat.

If you are staying on the west end of the island, for sure get a rental car. Driving is very easy after you leave the populated area near the airport. The roads are in very good condition, you drive on right just like in the U.S., and there is very little traffic on the western half of the island. I was surprised at how easy and convenient it was to drive on Curacao. If you venture into Willamstad with a car, things become a bit more difficult due to the maze of streets (no grid pattern) and lack of street signs.

Well, mine is, um, short, too. Especially on top.
