YouTube - Playa Cas Abou

We met some friendly people from Holland, Germany and the UK on our last trip to Curacao. The diving was excellent. We live in Miami and our flight on American was quick and easy. We were there around March 18, 2011. The weather and water temp were both around 79 degrees. I think next time we travel down there I'll concentrate on shore dives since most diving is right off the beach. I posted a video of a shore dive off of Playa Cas Abou (above). Our dive guide, Julian is a real cool dude! The dive operation we dove with was: Caribbean Sea Sports and they were very good and super nice!!!

Their website:
Curacao Diving - Caribbean Sea Sports Curacao - diving, dive shop and boat trips

We stayed at the Marriott which was nice enough and steps away from Caribbean Sea Sports dive shop. The only think I didn't like about the island was the oil refinery and the intermitent smog, but you soon forget it is there after a few days of diving.

I recommend diving Curacao especially because we traveled with some non-divers and they had plenty to keep them occupied as well. Punda is a nice place to walk around.

As I mentioned I plan to mainly do shore dives next time. Has anyone gone diving with The Dive Bus?

If so did you enjoy it?

Nice video! What kind of camera were you using?

Thank you. I'm still learning how to keep a steady hand. I use the Kodak Zi8 with an Ikelite housing. I'm sure there are better ones out there, but for the kind of video I shoot it is really all I need; plus it is small and easy to carry.

We dove 6 days with the dive bus last summer and could not have been happier with them. They picked us up on time every morning and took us to different sites each day. Their house reef is fantastic. Could not recommend them highly enough. They even have apartments now.

Definetly can't go wrong with Dive Bus. Great people. Just plain fun times. Email Suzy with any questions. (NOTE- don't worry if you don't get a reply right away, since my wife and I are meeting them this Saturday for an awesome week of diving in Bonaire:cool2:) We've made about 130 dives with them over the last 5 years, and each time was better than the last. If you do a search on this board for Dive Bus, you'll find pretty much the same stories from everyone.

Great video, thanks for sharing! Every time I see a large school of blue tangs, there is always a trumpet fish trying his best to fit in. Cas Abou is probably the most beautiful beach that I have been to. Their dive shop is always so helpful and professional. I just hope Cas Abou does not get overrun with crowds like Porto Marie.
