I am a bit of a newb, seen someone mention that there is not 80 cubic feet of air in an al 80.

I am curious because i am entering info into my dive log for some recent dives and the sac rate changes a little bit if i put in 77 rather than 80. I want to try to be as accurate as possible.

Or am I over annalyzing this and should just enter 80? What do you guys do?

I put in 77.4, which is the amount of air in an Al80 filled to 3,000 psi.

If you are involved enough to calculate a SAC rate or RMV, then it's worth the time and trouble to use accurate numbers.

Be careful.
Not all Al 80s are the same.

But most of them do hold 77.4 (or so) cuft when filled to 3000psi.

There are charts out there of tanks giving detailed data for most any tank you might run into. I don't have a link at hand but a little searching should turn it up.
