Re-Post to ask again

My girlfriend and I are going to Cayo Coco for a week in 3 weeks and are both divers. This will be our first trip to Cuba and would appreciate some feedback on the diving (operators etc.) and your experiences in the area. I have heard that the water is great and also that it is quite rough. We will be looking at maybe doing 2 days of diving, 2 dives per day and other excursions for the rest of the time. For the other excusions, the ones that sounded neat were the "Jungle Tour", "Half Moon Island", Tour in Jeep" and "Coral Reef".

Any feedback will be awesome and much appreciated.

I haven't been there but am seriously thinking of gong in July. Let me know what it was like when you get back please.

Thanks

I've been looking at Cayo Coco or Holguin for a cheap, not so over-developed, AI beach vacation with (hopefully decent) diving too. Been to Varadero and it was awesome for a beach vacation, but not for diving. It seems to be hard to find much info. on Cuba diving.
Not much on SB. I found this on Tripadvisor:
Cayo Coco forum: diving - TripAdvisor
Here's a couple more sites:
Scuba Diving Cuba, Diving and Snorkeling Cuba | Netssa
Cuba-Junky | Scuba Diving : Jardines del Rey, Cayo Coco & Cayo Guillermo

Sorry couldn't be of more help. Maybe someone will post their experience. Please come back and post yours! :)

Thanks for the replies. Since there seems to be very few people on here that have done any diving in Cuba, so I will come back and give some feedback. I will post some information on my site as well about the hotel along with pictures. No matter what, I am on vacation in less than 2 weeks so all should be good. Check back and I will post something.

I ran into a guy at my local dive shop who had dove at Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. The said the diving was pretty good. Not tons of fish but lots of sharks, turtles, rays. Said the diving was good but not the best he had done but none the less was well worth diving. Said the dive center at Melia Cayo Guillermo were good.
