There are plans for a cruise ship port to be built in 2022 - a new one.
The current one allows for more "boutique" ships to come in, but the new one will allow the mega-cruises into the area (about 150 p/year). That would most likely have a detrimental effect on marine life in the Gulf of California aka "The World's Aquarium" and home to the oldest reef in North America.
