We have previously stayed on Bonaire. We have an upcoming one day cruise ship stop and are wondering if any of the resorts close to the port will rent us tanks to dive their house reef? We prefer to dive on our own and make it simple.

Thanks for any information.

I was just there for 12 days. Divi Dive at Divi Flamingo (where we stayed) can help you. Great place and really nice house reef. It will be just south of where the cruise ships dock. I think about a half mile.

Any of the dive shops will rent out tanks for shore diving as long as you are certified and pay the Park Fee. Divi is immediately south of the port but your moored ship will be making noise. I don't like to dive there when a ship is in. I'd take a cab up to Buddy Dive or Captain Don's Habitat and make a day of it there. Good house reefs, pool to swim in and casual restaurants/bar for after dive.

DOC has a good idea also but I would choose Dive freinds at Sand Dollar. Good reef(Bari reef), easy access and choise of between 2 buns for lunch and the restaurant (name escapes me) by the dock.

Deleted. Others posted info while I was typing.

I 100% agree with @NDL_Diver. VIP was amazing, we've used them both for a cruise ship dive, and to provide us tanks when staying on the island.

For cruise ship dives, they pick you up at the cruise pier, bring you to their shop for gear (even just for weights and tanks), and then the DM/ guide drives you to the site in one of their trucks.

When my wife and I went we were with 1 other guy (who, for some reason, sat out both dives after gearing up), so it was more like a private guide for the two of us. They also made lunch, which was sandwiches, a dessert, and drinks, which was all included in the price.

Speaking of their price, it was more expensive then all the other options, but it was worth it.

Lastly, next time on on Bonaire for a cruise stop I'll reach out to them and see if they'd do a custom package... I'd like a guaranteed private guide/ truck for my wife and I... I'd also like do squeeze in a 3rd dive if possible, and although their lunch was good, I'd prefer to hit a food truck while out and about...

I actually heard Divi Dive is Not cruise friendly.

Dive Friend's Yellow Sub location is where many cruisers walk to.There's a shore dive there.

It's VIP Diving if you want to pay for an escorted dive - not DiveVIP

Dive Friends is also at Den Laman now so you can either go off the beach at Sand Dollar or the dock next door. Go off the end at low tide, my buddy jumped off the side and landed standing up.

Does VIP limit your dive time if you take escorted dives with them?

I have emailed them and a couple of others but no responses yet. Hopefully, they are just on island time.
