"Crippled" and "Handicapped" are words that are now obsolete! Many years ago my daughter went to Shriners Hospital for "Crippled" Children, which is now called Shriners Childrens Hospital. "Handicapped" Scuba is now called "Adaptive" Scuba thanks to Diveheart's persevering campaign to grow "Adaptive" Scuba worldwide while changing the language used when describing people and activities surrounding individuals with disabilities.
