I just got my cressi sub XS2 AC2 regulator for my pony and want it to route from my left side. There is a duplicate port (with a plug in it) on the left side but before moving it I wanted to make sure the port was there for that reason. I called the shop I purchased it from and they were closed. Friday 12-23-06 3 pm I dont blame them.

I decided to call Cressi and ask them if this port was a duplicate of the one on the right side. The man was not happy, he asked me who I was with, I told him I was just a cressi customer, and that was the last I heard of cressi. Hopefully it was just a bad day, as everybody has them.

Does anyone know if this pluged port on the left is the same as the right and is for the divers preference? The manual was very thick but didn't go into this kind of info.

Thanks

well if I understand your question right, you are asking if the regulator/2nd stage hose can be moved from side of the 1st to the other. yes :D

As long as the other port that you want to insert/install the hose into is a LP/MP port then by all means. Most of the HP ports will be labelled as such, but the LP/MP ports will not be...but the thread size/pattern will be different

Since the regulator only has 1HP and 4 LP/MP ports, your chances are pretty good at finding the correct port.

When you unscrew and install the hose in the proper port location, make sure that you do not cross-thread or overtighten the hose

I apologize Tamas, I was not clear in my description. The mouthpiece hose (2nd stage) comes into the mouthpiece on the right side, I want the mouthpiece hose to come from my left. I want the pony on my left and the 2nd stage coming from my left. It has a short hose which will keep my rig cleaner and coming from my left will help to identify the reg.

I tried for 30 minutes to upload a 113kb pic jpeg but this website will not except it. I even turned off the symantic.

Just to be clear: you want to do what is described on the top part of this description, right? http://www.apeks.co.uk/technical/technical-xtxrevregfeatures.asp

If so, i don't think you'd be able to accomplish that with this particular regulator. The XTX series of Apeks (that's the regulator that i have which is why i knew about it) is the only one i know that does this and even then you need to send it to an authorized service center to do it for you.

A more obvious way to accomplish this routing method would be a side-exhaust second stage so that there is no "right-way-up" and there are many examples of that, such as the Apeks Egress, Aqualung ABS Octo, Oceanic Slimline, Genesis SKO, Dacor Viper series, Aeris Gyro or a number of other variations on the same idea.

I am afraid that with that model of 2nd stage, what you seek cannot be done, as mentioned above, the Apeks XTX line will allow for that or a non-directional side breather like the older Oceanic Omega, Poseidon Jetstream/Xstream, some older Dacor models....etc.

Thanks to both of you. Once I viewed a breakdown I found online it was clear the hose side was very different. Again thanbks for the help.
