Hello I was wondering if anybody uses the Cressi-Sub Ellipse Titanium/MC7 Regulator. If so are they good at breathing at depth? I am looking for a new reg to play with and try out. I am happy with my Sherwood Blizzard but and looking to expand on different types of regs.

the reg you have now is alote better than the cressi. My friends that have them can't go ice diving with their cressi's have to let them use my aqualungs to dive.

Hmmm, I think you are probably referring to the Ellipse STEEL /MC7 - AF if you are looking for a cold water reg.? To my knowledge there is no Titanium MC 7.

Excellant reg, which comes complete with an anti freeze kit so is designed for cold water.

In my opinion Cressi struggled with their regulator line up some years back, but realised this and have worked very hard to bring a new and very good range into the market, unlike Sherwood who had excellant regs 20 years ago, but they havent seen the need to change anything (except cosmetics) in that time and now, in my opinion their regs are like dinosaurs.

Nothing wrong with the Cressi range of regs now, they are right up there with the rest.

I have a Cressi Alaska set up (Ellipse Titanium w/ MC7 AF), dove it off New Jersey this winter in 34 F at 100 fsw with no problems at all. Breathes real nice. Maybe a few years back Cressi had freeze up problems, but now I think it's all worked out.

I have that reg, and it breaths great, been down to 90ft and no issue. I have converted to and Alaska by adding the cold water kit which makes it a seal first stage. And the reg will not break the bank.

Im jusing that reg the MC7-AF for 2 years now dived in +2 C and -1 c saltwater and hade no troble at all, on deeper dives 40 m (134 feet) still verry eazy breatingh altou i juse the ellipse 2e stage titanium. the factory delivering is mc7 - AF ellipse steel. and a backup air whit the same config , jusing a 7 feet hose on my 2e stage and having my backup air hanging just under my head. so by buddy breating my buddy juse the 7 feet hose whits gives a beter swimming condition

I have two MC7 / Ellipse Titanium set-ups, one which I used to dive but have since given to my wife, the other my dad uses. I can tell you that for the money you will be hard pressed to find a better reg. Its a reliable balanced 1st with clever ports for good hose routing. The 2nd stage is so light that you barely feel its there. It breaths great at depth 100'+. I don't know how it performs in cold water but there is a seal kit available for the 1st stage. A nice balanced 1st stage with a titanium 2nd and all for under $300. Great reg.

I i have a Cressi MC7 300 bar DIN with ellipse titanium and i start to have problem after 200 dives the midle pressure start to be to hight 14 bar and was not possible to set it up right any more so i service the first stage with original parts but after 4 dives the pressure start to do the same and the octopus start to realise the extra pressure.
the service has been done by a tecnician.
Any other have the same problem or any idea how to fix it ?

go to another tech or send it back to cressi
