Never while diving, but have gathered them up by the hundreds walking around shallow rivers.

Never got them myself but you to get them from the seafood store. Always wondering about collecting them myself for a snack.

I figured I have used traps for them to get however much I want, why not get a small net and hand select my meal? Pointless I know but just one more thing to do underwater

Anyone tried gathering crawfish for a surface side snack before?

I have a whole (bloody) aquarium full of crayfish. It's astounding how fast they can reproduce....

I always thought crawdads would be cool aquarium inhabitants.

We use to dive in Pearl Lake, north of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. A couple of us could gather a bushel of crawfish in a couple of dives. You could pick them up four or five at a time before you stuff them in the bag. They're of good size as well. Good cold water gloves make the claws a non-issue.
