While crossing a sandy area our dive guide "pulled" these out of the sand I believe they were about 6 inches across. They scooted a distance then one of them buried itself in the sand. Any idea of what these are?

Looks like a sand flea/mud crab.
6" would be enormous.
I have only seen a 2" whopper.

Upon further inspection I think I got it.
Some kind of Calico Crab.
