Crab in Indonesia

Anyone with an idea about this crab from North Bali Indonesia?

Found in about 5 metres on mud bottom, looking for latin names

I got crabs in Indonesia once. A girl I met in Club Tanamoor. She had kind of a Latin look to her but I think she was half Dutch, half Javanese. I don't remember her name.

Pretty tough to photograph even with a macro lense and usually found n an area not conducive to taking photographs. For more than you ever wanted to know about them and a picture you can go to

It seems to be Portunus haani or its closely related species.

Sorry, the crab from Bali is more similar to Portunus argentatus than P. haani by the dark round patch on the swimming leg. Please see the page below:
