Crab Evolution

My discussion of the processes in crustacean evolution which gave rise to crab-like bodies several times independently. Featuring crab footage from the waters of Dauin in the Philippines, and from our garden (where a land crab lives).

That land crab looks similar to one that I saw in French Polynesia -- identified by the iNaturalist community as Cardisoma carnifex.

I think that's a good guess - these are not easy to ID for me, several really similar species.
