Does anybody know how Cozumel is doing after the last hurricane? Most of the info I found comes from businesses that are aimed at attracting tourists, so I don't necessarily believe all they say.

Specifically, I'm looking for stuff like:

- Is the area still pretty messed up?
- Are all the resorts and restaurants open?
- How are the reefs/sealife/wildlife?
- Is Papa Hog's (our favorite dive operator on the island!) operating normally?
- Is the Iberostar (our fave resort) in good shape?
- Did the hurricane permanently blow away all the cruise ships? (fingers crossed)

Any info would be very much appreciated!

There is a lot of up to date information in the Coz forum you posted this in.

Got Back Wednesday the 15th Did 10 VERY interesting dives Two on Sunday the Feb 12th when the port was closed!!!!

We stayed at the Grand because the Allegro was still closed! The Grand was GREAT... deserves it's 5 Star rating. Everthing Open!!!

When we left, the Allegro was STILL closed even though they have been working on it 24 hours a day. Did you know that hurricane Emily did a number on the resort and Wilma did everything to it that Emily did not? It has not been open since Emily!!

Concerning the Iberostar.... Only half of the resort is open and they are also triyng to get things in shape...you can notice that things are bad just by passing on a boat!

I hope to introduce myselft to the group as a regular member soon and tell you about my two dives on the 12th... by the way we were the only boat visable on the second dive!!

Mike
