Dive in 3 ports for $450 plus cruise cost (starts $800ish).
So I have been organizing (and going on!) dive trips for 20+ years, mostly resorts and liveaboard with the friends/clients that I made running a dive shop for 20 years. Still doing that for Island Divers Hawaii (which has new ownership now - good people doing well with it). Follow that link to see the dozen or so trips I have planned through 2027.
Last year we did our first bookings off cruise ships with private boats to try and get away from the cruise ship planned and "dumbed down" diving they tend to do. The diving itself was great. It is a little bit of a hassle though: off the boat with your gear, down the pier, thought he "maze", finally to the taxi and the operator and then reverse when done.
However, we had a private boat of 8 experienced divers, got to go all the way down to Palancar in Coz, diving is better than I expect in Costa Maya. The real plus that our group was 18 people, we all met up at dinner, played in the casino, caught the comedy shows, hit the night club, basically had a good time on the cruise. So the real value was that "mixed" couples had a great time - divers and non divers, and the non diving friends joined us as well. The group was big enough that the travel advisor (my +1) gifted everyone couple bottles of wine.
Want to give it a shot?
Link to Book the trip, both divers and non divers. If you are not diving the price is $0, our travel advisor will reach out to book you on the cruise. Note that having our travel advisor (Sheila) book you on the cruise is a requirement of being part of our group - there is no cost to you for this service. Bring you parents, your grandparents, or whomever. Get a few good dives in while having a friends and family vacation.
Who should book?
Divers: you need 20 dives and a diver within the last year, or an Advanced cert and a dive with in the past year (we are getting the operator to do advanced dives for our group, so if this is not you, please book your diving with the cruise ship). This is not an operator requirement, it is our groups requirement. The diving is $175 per port or $450 for all 3 ports.
Non Divers: everyone is welcome, just book at $0 and we'll get you signed up with the group. All ages 2-99. It is a cruise, we are doing this BECAUSE we love to dive, but we love our non divers too.
The cruise cost is currently running about $800 per person with taxes and fees (not gratuity), with upgrades for better room types. Availability and pricing can change daily and currently the ocean view rooms are almost sold out with plenty of balcony and interior left. $99 reserves a berth with payment for the trip due mid Oct 2025.
