You have a lot of luck and talent. Wonderful pics. Thank you.

WOW!

Amazing pics. My first trip to Cozumel happens October 24th. I cannot wait.

Jim,

Beautiful pics - I will be in Coz in late September and hope to see some of the stuff you did! I noticed some folks in your pics wearing hoods - is it that cold down there?

Thanks.

That would be the DM and my wife with the hoods. The water was in the mid eighties and most divers were without thermal protection. I wore a diveskin. A few divers, like my wife, find a 3mm or 5mm wetsuit with hood more comfortable in that temperature range. The DMs often wear 3mm wetsuits. It's a matter of personal choice and tolerance. One time we were on a boat in Cozumel with a gal in a drysuit!

During the winter, the water temps dip to 78 degrees or so and I wear a 3mm suit. I also always pack a hooded vest as cheap insurance against cooler conditions.

DSAO,
Jim

Verrrry smart. I think I may do the same as an insurance against sunburn induced chills later in the dive week.

Thank you for such a wonderful report of the diving and for sharing your talent with us!

I am in search of that Black Frogfish! I know where a red one is on Chankanaab, but haven't yet found the black one I always hear about on Paradise :)

Glad you had a great trip!

The black frogfish on Paradise is located out in the flats, in the triangle formed by the big concrete block on the north and the two research "candelabra" on the south. Look for her sitting up in a sponge cluster. Good luck, or you could ask Jesus or Alberto Zetina at Scuba Club to take you there in exchange for showing them the red one on Chankanaab.

Best,
Jim

Whoa! Great pictures. But come on admit it, those were trained fish, right? HAHA just kidding. Great job! Thanks for sharing your pics with us.
