Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some help in choosing my next scuba course.

I have done a few: AOW and rescue, plus night, drysuit and ice (PADI).

Right now, I dont really know what to do next.

Cost is not an issue, since my employer will pay for it as long as it's within reason.

Thanks,
Phil

Are they hiring?:rofl3:

Seriously......I'm jealous........

Hiring?

Well, If you're a French speaking lab tech, probably.

They paid my Ice diving course, and would pay for the divemaster course too.

Nice, I'm hijacking my own thread..;)

tropical diver course; The Fully Equipped Tropical Diver
Plan on diving in fairly warm water (temperatures above 27˚C/81˚F)? If so, this is how a fully equipped tropical diver looks. Mouse over the equipment list to learn more about the equipment shown.

Diving in tropical waters offers many distinct adventures. If you plan to dive in tropical realms, check out these courses while you're there:

:D

what about a equipment speciality??

Hey there Phil!! My suggestion is Deep, Wreck and Nitrox. You have some awesome deep wrecks right in your own back yard. By combining these three courses, you will have the opportunity to appreciate some amazing wrecks right in the Great Lakes and throughout the St. Lawrence.

Almitywife, sounds like fun, but apart from learning not to be forgotten in open sea by boat operators, is there anything to learn ?:D

Bryan, is the deep diver course worth it? Or, is the tech way better to get to those deep spots ( 100 feet plus)?

Phil

You definitely need Deep and Nitrox. I personally found PADI's multi-level interesting for the multi-level theory but you could study this yourself. The computer stuff is pretty basic and the diving itself doesn't add anything

Phil I think in some agencies they actually want you to have the deep before you go tech. If you are purely devoted to diving though in My own opinion nitrox is a must!!!!!

Ronzo,

I just looked it up. The Tech Diver level one course has Deep diver and Enriched Air as prerequisites, plus dive experience with nitrox.

There's just no shortcuts, it seems.

If I went the tech way, how do the other agencies' courses compare to DSAT?
