I think just a couple inches extra would be sufficient. You dont want a big piece dangling...

Try your harness on with your thickest undergarments, and drysuit, then measure and cut with a couple inches sticking out the end. That way, you wont have a problem..

I do have a drysuit, but I would need to get a pocket put onto it, what is the best location for this usually, I'm guessing somewhere on the leg would work best.
Thanks for all your help and advice.

Yes, on the middle of your thigh. Try your drysuit on, and then place the pocket where you would want it to be, so that you can reach into it. Too low, and you will be fishin, too high and you will have to be a contortionist to get into it...

Good Luck.

Thanks for all the advise everyone. I think I'm all set up now :)

Has anyone used the Dive Rite weight pocket attached to the waist strap on the BP?

It sounds like a better alternative to a weight belt

I have a 4# swing in weight requirement from my deep water rig to my shallow reef config (wetsuit/tank differences) I use two DiveRite pockets on my BP to handle the swing & to counterbalance my pony when I use it. But the bulk of my weight (8#) stays on the belt.

If you haven't already, look at the DUI weight harness. I love mine, it's very comfortable and it can handle plenty of weight. I can't wear a wt. belt, always sliding down my butt, and I don't want any additional weight on my harness.
