Indeed you can dive there. The trip I was on had an array of experience. We dove the NW coast in Guanacasta near Liberia, I cant speak for the southern areas. Dive depths ranged from 30-90 ft. Average about 75 for the first of the day. Costa Rica is a beautiful place to see Id reccomend touring the country-side and a visit to one of their many volcanoes. Arenal was fantastic. The people were great once we were out of San Jose. Enjoy your trip.

Check out Isla Del Cano. There's a national park there and the diving is quite good. It's not Cocos but still nice.

Catalina and Bat Islands are also nice day trips.

I dived in Costa Rica in the northwest part. There should be beginner level dive sites there. One major difference with the diving down there is that the water has less visibility due to more plankton but as a result, there's more larger marine life. It's good diving down there.

I just came back from CR. If you are in the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area, check out http://manuelantoniodivers.com/ Nice bunch of people with a very good boat. They have a nearby pool for teaching if you are just getting certified. Manuel Antonia has a great park for seeing monkeys, solths and other wildlife.

The dives in this area are very well suited to new OW divers. 25-60' depths at most of the places we went.

sorry but this message had nothing to do with diving, but with your users name. My name is Martine Lileire and for the first time I find somebody with these name out of Belgium. Here my family is very smal (just 17 people carring these name). So I wonder it's your real name or it is just a fake.
Can you please send me some information?
Thank you very much.
