Costa Maya or Punta Allen

So, I've got a wedding in Playa Del Carmen in march but I'm going to take off for a few days after. Want to get out of dodge and have someplace nice and quiet. I've got options to either grab a little casita in Punta allen, or a bungalow along costa maya. The place in Punta allen does have a small kitchen and is in walking distance to the supers, so I don't mind cooking up my own meals ect. I want to be able to walk in off the beach and do some decent snorkeling and spearing.

Also I won't be renting a car so has to be relatively easy to access.

If anyone has been to either one please let me know.

I dove Costa Maya with Dream Time diving a couple of years ago. It was just for the day but we did four dives with them and they were wonderful. They had a small place with rooming also. It was easy diving with easy access and a very nice beach. As far as the diving was concerned it was amongst the best diving I have ever done. Most definetaly the best diving I have done in the Caribbean.
I have never dove Punta allen but I am sure MountainM will let you know of it soon enough.

In Costa Maya in Mahahual there is a new Dive Center in downtown "Zona de Buceo"
