My Cosmiq dive computer watch-style strap didn't work great on my 7mm wetsuit - even with it cinched uncomfortably tight on the surface, it was loose and rolling around my wrist at depth.

The computer comes with a bungee strap. I followed these instructions, and got to step 5, with both ends of the bungee secured to one side of the computer, and a big loop threaded through the other side.

Step 6 says to tie off the excess bungee, but doesn't specify how & what type of know.

My questions:
  • How should I tie off the excess loop? Is there a way to do so that will be adjustable (so that I can use the computer with my 7mm wetsuit at home and a 3mm suit while traveling, for example)
  • Won't I end up with a huge amount of excess loop? Should I cut it off or something?
