Just landed in the Canary Islands and I have been told by the local dive centres that Spain has declared a state of emergency and all the dive centres I contacted in Playa Blanca in Lanzarote are stopping operations for now.

Wow!
I am not there and no plans this year, but just curious: As in seize all operation including tank and weight rentals to DIY shore divers?

I didn’t ask this because I went alone and I don’t feel like I should be diving solo at my level of experience.

I’ll ask tomorrow, but shops were just all closed in Playa Blanca this late afternoon.

Again, wow!
Wish you find ways to enjoy your trip nevertheless ... and stay healthy.

That's a bummer. Take it easy buddy and hope you have a good holiday anyway. G

It seems to be a Playa Blanca thing only.

The dive centres in Puerto Del Carmen are continuing until being given clearer instructions.

I am with my young baby son, my wife and her mum so everything is good. Still have that itch to dive though :)
