So Im diving with my friend who is an instructor a few weekends ago while he is teaching a class. The only difference in our respective dive profiles, is that I didnt participate in the controlled emergency swim ascent training. I sat on the bottom at (20ft) while he practiced this move with 4 students. After the class was over, my friend and I dove to 140 to cut a line that was becoming entanglement problem. We werent at that depth for very long, but at his first glance at his computer he was in a deco obligation. My computer indicated that I was nowhere near an obligation.
I realize that this isnt the best example because we were using different computers (and on a reverse profile), but Im curious if the 4 controlled emergency swim ascents he performed while I sat at depth earlier that day could have made any difference.
Any thoughts?
