Can any one give me some information on the Conshelf SEA stage first?
I know that it appears to be the same as the Cousteau first stage.
Good reg, easily serviced ect.

Thanks

I have a couple of them. They are very easy to service, you can get to the HP seat and balance chamber with one allen wrench. With the exception of the filter, they use the same repair parts as the Conshelf and Titan so the parts are common and will be around for a long time to come. Basically, they are a Conshelf/Titan that has been rearranged a little. There are several versions floating around, some a little larger than the other but otherwise the same. The one thing I don't like about them is some of the LP ports are the larger 1/2 size instead of the normal 3/8. You will need the correct hose or IMO a better option is to use the 1/2 to 3/8 adapter. These were also used on the Mares SR-1s, same first stage, differnet yoke knob.

The older ones use the annoying LARGE SLOT instead of the Allen wrench. Those are a PITA.

I agree, I ground down gasket scraper and made a tool for that kind of slot, luckily mine are newer than those. It would be easy to replace the end plug during a rebuild if you really hate it but since you only need to access it once every 3 or 4 years it's not a big deal.

Yeah I was thinking about replacing them on a rebuild, but as you say you only have to do it every once in a great while so....

I have 12 of them I collected for rental. I do love these. AT least four of them have the allen wrench which means easy gear repair since i can dial in the IP I want to work on second stages with.

I also have two of them with the environmental seal which is neat. And I have four DIN adapters for them. (I hate how tiny the filter disk is with the DIN version though.)

I ground down two chisels to make giant screwdrivers that exactly fit each end. The IP adjuster screw is slightly different than the HP side, and given the corrosion I fight that little difference makes for slippage.

Just as a side note:

I am selling off all of the gear I collected to use as rental gear (long story). I have 8 Yoke, and 2 DIN SEA first stages for sale. All of the older slot IP adjuster version. I am thinking of putting them on eBay. If anyone wants one, post here. I am not sure what to sell them for.

(I really do not want to sell them. If my partner made a miraculous recovery, I would wish I had not sold them. But the partner's not going to get better. So, I do have to sell them. And by them, I do not mean I have to sell my partner. I mean I have to sell my SEA first stages. I have overhaul kits too even.)

PM sent.

I was thinking $60.00 for each first stage. Just the first stages is what I have. I got them through trades with an eBayer who deals with them a lot. SO I do nto know what i 'paid' for them, since I was just sending him piles of stuff I did not need for my rental like consoles and second stages etc.

Here's what I know about them: they all have a stable IP. And they have all the plugs filled, including the 1/2" port. I had no real interest in having to keep track of 1/2" hoses so I just bought the plugs to fill that port. And that is pretty much the end of what I know about them. The pictures show that they are all clean, in fact I'd say at least some of them have never seen water.

I only have two somewhat related second stages: two Micra adjustables. (I also have 4 sealed Micra/ Micra Adjustable service kits.) I'd sell the two micra adjustable and the four service kits in a pile for $100.00, shipping included. (I paid $20.00 each for the rebuild kits)

First stage wise, shipping included, $60.00 for each first stage, $100.00 if you buy two at a time. Buy three for $150.00 and I'll include two overhaul kits? I double checked what I have for first stage kits: I have two Titan/Conshelf kits, and two proper Cousteau/SEA kits.

Here is a picture of the first stages and the two Micra Adjustables:

I'll peg the price for the DINs as $30.00 more, because I know the eBay guy told me that he gets a lot more for them.
