I'm a Fish!
Hello All

I,m Looking for support for marine conservation projects in cambodia.

We are a new dive shop, staffed by instructors and dm,s who have left the other shops within Cambodia to support marine conservation projects in cambodia,
The Dive Shop Cambodia is setting up a pionner project to help organise marine protected areas and related projects here in cambodia.
The diving industry is in its infancy here in cambodia, and after many years of reports on how the diving here is not so good, people are begining to realise that there is more than meets the eye, The companys operating here before used to run to a limited no. of sites, After a year of exploring we are offering many new sites and showing divers the real Cambodia.
We sea breeding pairs of healthy seahorse on most dives, with over six different species so far discovered including a dwarf species no bigger than 1cm, the macro life is amazingly diverse.
The reefs are suprisingly resilient, but we need to set up protected areas, as like most other areas in se asia before diving helped to save them, cambodia still suffers from weight net fishing, dynamite fishing, uncontrolled logging of the Islands and many unsustainable fishing practises.
We are currently working with the local villagers on the islands to educate the kids and fishermen, on easier more productive and less destructive ways of fishing.

We need all enthusiastic divers and travellers who would like to be involved to contact us for more information. Contact us at scubadiving@diveshopcambodia.com

We are a small shop and need all the support we can raise, with your help we will pionneer conservation in Cambodia.

Thanks
The Dive Shop Cambodia
