Basically i've got a brand new sea&sea ys-d1 and a second hand ikelite housing for my canon 550d. The problem is the circuit inside the housing which controls the TTL is broken, it must have got moisture inside it from the previous owner. So my question is, can you directly connect the sub-strobe to the hot-shoe on the camera without going through the circuit as i don't need the TTL setting anyway? or would it be easier/cheaper to try to purchase a new circuit to go inside the housing?
