Are the villa's at the plaza what is also called port bonaire? I have read all sorts of reviews on the plaza and have seen two different sites for the plaza ( both with villas ) which seem to be some what different and also in price. Are there two different properties?
thanks Lynne

The villas are on the same property as the Plaza. The port starts at the town pier, continuing on South. :palmtree: Bob

Lynne,
I think the villas you are asking about at the Plaza are the one and two bedroom units that are just across the little bridge from the restaurant. We stayed in one three years ago and it was quite nice. It cost us only an additional $100 for the week. Others with our group stayed four to a unit in the two-bedroom "villas".
There are also other units owned by the Plaza that are across the channel into the complex and I think they are known as "The Villas ", but they are more like condos. They are also not convenient to the main complex unless you have a car.

Ooops, you got it backwards. The "villas" include kitchens and are located across the foot bridge from the restaurants. They're a little isolated (not a bad thing, IMNSHO) but still an easy walk to everything, including the beach and the dive shop. We've always stayed in the villas so that we could have the kitchen and more room. Port Bonaire is the condos and they are located across the lagoon a fair distance away from everything, I've never been inside them. I think you can walk to the resort from Port Bonaire, but it would be quite a hike. There is a dock at Port Bonaire and I think the dive boats could pick you up there but I've never seen that happen.

On the map, the Port Bonaire condos are the cluster in the upper left hand corner. The villas are the cluster in the center of the map on their own little island, just to the left of the main building.
