Condo's on the Kona coast

I am looking on the Google maps to try to figure out where in the Kailua-Kona area would be good to rent a condo.
My mom is coming along to help babysit while we dive and she wanted to be able to walk to shops, etc.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Or has anyone used the Alii Shuttle? That might be a good option, too.

The shuttle is do-able....Alii Shuttle (tel. 808/938-1112)

Running further south there is a shuttle to/from Keahou

Most folks who wanna be able to walk to/from Kailua end up in the condos just south of town. There is no sidewalk but the shoulder is big enough to walk. Pushing a stroller will be slightly more difficult. There are some condos in town and just east, between Alii Drive and Kuakini Highway. But no idea if those are vacation rentals.

Ive stayed on ali'i drive in kona and it was amazing. Close to all the shops
