conditions in Cozumel

We are leaving the end of January for our annual Trec to Cozumel. Has anyone on this thread been there since the storm?? We are staying at Hotel Cozumel, and they claim to not have much damage. They claim the reefs are in great shape, and some of the swimthru areas are larger after the storm. What did any of you think????

You should have no issues with Hotel Cozumel. I was there the 2nd week of Dec and they were working long days to get the remaining rooms fixed as well as the beach side. They really were very fortunate there. The properties just a few minutes south were not so lucky, neither was the cruise ship pier just to their north.

Princess, are you a few weeks early this year? Though maybe you were the one causing all of the trouble around the 20th of Feb last year.

Just got back... Reefs are in pretty good shape. Diving is great! Most shops and restraunts are open in town.

Nope, not me, We almost always go the last week in January, before the high season and hight rates.

Glad you enjoyed your trip. it has been suggested on another thread by someone who recently visited that downtown Cozumel is like a "disaster area", Would you say that's accurate?? or false??

Hey Antonio,

The reports that Downtown is a disaster are incredible! We spent nearly every evening finding new restraunts, shopping, watching kids play at the Plaza... The town is fine. Why folks are saying these things is beyond me!

(by the way, how did the Ano Nueve photos turn out?)

Lot's of us have been there over Christmas and lots are going this month and next.

It's quiet and rather nice......not the Hollywood of of past years,no glam,just good stuff.
